Jaclyn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New York. She supports individuals and couples to live healthy, meaningful lives. Some find themselves feeling overly anxious, sad, or helpless, whether that’s because of low self-esteem, or major life stress. Jaclyn teaches clients how to communicate effectively with others, and build trust in themselves. She is continually guided by her belief that within every individual lives an expert on their own source of joy and contentment and path towards self-actualization and she strives to cultivate her client’s ability to connect with their inner-expert. Jaclyn deeply values the clients she works with and honors the many ways that they display courage, vulnerability, perseverance and honesty.
Jaclyn practices Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a thought-based therapy modality where clients learn how to break out of harmful thought patterns. Jaclyn utilizes a blend of therapy techniques tailored to each client to help them make sense of how they connect with others. Therapy with Jaclyn leaves clients with a deeper insight into how they function, and how to move forward to address their challenges. She helps clients recognize and tap into their resilience, teaching them how to cope with difficult situations, high amounts of stress, or major changes. She helps clients identify their motivations when making changes in their lives.
Jaclyn holds Bachelors Degrees in both Psychology and Social Behavior, and Criminology from University of California, Irvine, and a Masters Degree in Social Work from Columbia University. Jaclyn's professional experience includes working with diverse client populations and organizations with people ranging in age from adolescence through the elderly. She has worked in direct service settings such as inpatient and outpatient mental health facilities, non-profit service organizations and private practice.
